Editorial, continued. People wrote to ask that the newsletter be enlarged and include articles about the businesses here in Tracy. We listened and the fourth issue of the original time-slice.com newsletter represents the evolution to include articles about various businesses in Tracy. That issue also marked the move to being published on the Internet on the web site associated with my consulting practice. Moving the newsletter to the Internet allowed us to expand the size of the newsletter without incurring any additional publishing costs. It was getting expensive to distribute the original newsletter through the Chamber of Commerce so it was only natural to use the Internet as the only means of distribution. After moving to the Internet as the only method of distribution, we have seen the number of regular subscribers rise to around two hundred. |
These are the people who have submitted a request to be notified whenever
a new issue is distributed, but the bigger story is with those people who
regularly read the newsletter, but did not ask to be notified when one is
published. The number of letters and questions coming from people
who are not subscribers has suggested the total readership is closer to
around one thousand. November marks another growth in the newsletter as we evolve and change our name to the Tracy Business Journal and move ourselves to our own Internet domain: www.tracybusinessjournal.com. Those of us at the journal are excited by this next step in our evolution as we work overtime to develop the new look and structure of the journal. As the editor of the Tracy Business Journal and a local business consultant, I have |
been conducting seminars at the Tracy Chamber of Commerce on various business topics. Several of the attendees of these seminars have asked that I coordinate the class materials with the publication of the Journal. Starting with this issue, the seminar materials will also be the Tracy Business Journal feature training article. We thank those who have been with us during the last few months as we have grown from a little one-page newsletter to an on-line magazine representing the Tracy business community. We invite other businesses in Tracy to contact us to arrange to have your business story told. We also invite our readers to spread the work and let your friends know that we are here and providing this free service to the local business community. |
