   It started when the customer's credit information was incorrectly entered into the computer and his orders were delayed.  Then the orders were mixed with those of  another company.

Miss Millie's Learning Loft

I uncovered Miss Millie's Learning Loft in my search for the many Hidden Treasures of Tracy.  Nestled in a small store in the historic downtown area of Tracy at 809 Central Avenue, next to Shot's Coffee and Tea Company.  The small store hosts an incredible supply of educational materials for the parents and teachers of young children.

Miss Sparkles Delight

It is challenging to interview a popular celebrity in a  public place, and Miss Sparkles Delight is no different.  We chatted in the lobby of Shots Coffee on Central avenue with Sparkles sitting in her clown costume.  Children accompanying their folks into Shots would light up with joy upon seeing Sparkles.  Terry quickly slipped into character for a few minutes and entertained her youthful fans.

Starting your own business

There are many reasons why a person might start their own business, but the most common one is that they are good at something, they become tired of doing it for someone else, and they choose to take on the additional workload to become their own boss.

   What most people fail to realize is the amount of work or risk involved in owning the company.  Operating a company requires more than a skill, some capital, and the willingness to work some long hours, but also it requires a basic understanding of all aspects of running the business.

   Is this meant to discourage people from starting their own businesses?  No, but I do want people to understand that expertise in a particular subject is not enough.  Where does one go to get that expertise?  The Tracy Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring classes on a monthly basis that can help .

Local Car Show Draws People to Shopping Mall

I reported in last month's newsletter that Ray Rhead of The American Dog helped to host a car show entitled Classic's Cruz'n on the Boulevard.  Vintage music was provided courtesy of Tracy's Gene Tinsley, who owns Footloose DJ.  The weather was comfortably warm, which helped assure the success of the show.
